The Ocean Cleanup

The Ocean Cleanup develops advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic by placing floaters with screens attached in the garbage patches to catch and concentrate the plastic. The floaters are connected to each other and to the anchor lines with Green Pin^® Bow Shackles BN. In February 2018 the test version of the floater assembly was tested successfully in the North Sea. The full-scale version will measure 600 meters (1968 feet) and will be used 1200 nautical miles offshore in the Great Pacific Garbage patch. The Ocean Cleanup system is estimated to clean up 50% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in 5 years.
