Van Beest B.V. et al, at Industrieweg 6, 3361 HJ Sliedrecht, The Netherlands, is the controller of the processing of personal data as stated in this privacy notice.

The personal data which we process
Van Beest processes your personal data because you make use of our services and/or you have provided them to us yourself. You will find an overview of the personal data that we process below:

  • IP address
  • Other personal data that you have actively provided, by, for example, creating a profile on this website, in correspondence and by telephone (such as a fore and surname, address details, telephone number, e-mail address and bank account number)
  • Location details
  • Data about your activities on our website
  • Internet browser and type of device

The purpose and basis for processing your personal data Van Beest processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Sending you our newsletter and/or promotional leaflet
  • Contacting you by telephone or e-mail if this is necessary in order to provide our service
  • Informing you about changes to our services and products
  • Offering you the possibility of creating an account
  • Delivering goods or services to you
  • Dealing with your payment
  • Van Beest analyses your behaviour on the website in order to improve the website and to tailor the products and services we offer to your preferences.
  • Van Beest also processes personal data that we are legally obliged to, such as data that we need for our tax return.

Automated decision-making
Van Beest does not take decisions based on automated processes about matters that may have considerable or other consequences for people. These decisions are those that are taken by computer programmes or systems without the intervention of a person (such as an employee of Van Beest).

The period for which personal data is retained
Van Beest retains your personal data for no longer than is necessary in order to achieve the purposes for which your details are collected.
 

Sharing personal data with third parties
Van Beest will not sell your data to third parties and only discloses it if it is necessary for the performance of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We enter into a processors agreement with companies that process your data on our instructions in order to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality. Van Beest remains responsible for this processing.
 

Van Beest uses functional, analytical and tracing cookies
A cookie is a small text file that is stored in the browser of your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit this website. Van Beest uses cookies that are only technically functional. They ensure that the website works as it should and that your preferred settings, for example, are remembered. These cookies are used to ensure that the website works well and to improve it. We also place cookies to record your surfing behaviour so that we can offer tailor-made content and advertisements. You were already informed about cookies and asked permission to place them on your first visit to our website. You can opt out of cookies by setting your internet browser so that it does not store cookies any more. Furthermore, you can also use your browser settings to delete all information that has previously been stored.
 

Use of permanent cookies
We can recognise you when you visit our website again by means of a permanent cookie. This allows the website to be specially set to your preferences. Google can supply this information to third parties insofar as it is legally obliged to do so or the third parties process the information on behalf of Google. This is something over which we have no control. We have, however, given Google permission to use the analytic information for other of its services.

The information collected by Google is anonymised as far as possible. You IP address is expressly not supplied. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google obliges itself to maintain the Privacy Shield principles and is a participant in the Privacy Shield programme of the United States Department of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.
 

Social Media
Buttons may be included on our website in order to promote (‘like’) or share (‘tweet’) web pages on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. These buttons work by means of pieces of codes that come from Facebook and Twitter. Cookies are placed by means of this code. This is something over which we have no control. The information that we collect is anonymised as far as possible. The information is transferred to and stored by Twitter, Facebook Google + and LinkedIn on servers in the United States. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Google + oblige themselves to maintain the Privacy Shield principles and are participants in the Privacy Shield programme of the United States Department of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.
 

Access to, and amendment and deletion of, data
You have the right of access to your personal data and to correct or delete it. You also have the right to withdraw any permission for, or object to, the processing of your personal data by Van Beest and you also have the right of data portability.

This means that you can also submit a request to us to send the personal data we have in a computer file to you or to another organisation nominated by you. You can submit a request for access, correction, deletion or transfer of your personal data or withdraw your permission for, or object to, the processing of your personal data by e-mail to privacy@vanbeest.nl.

In order to be certain that you indeed have sent the request, please include a copy of a proof of identity with it. Make sure that your photo, MRZ (machine-readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of your passport), passport number and any citizen service number [Burgerservicenummer or BSN] cannot be seen to protect your privacy. We will reply as soon as possible and no later than four weeks.

How we protect personal data
Van Beest takes the protection of your personal data very seriously and takes appropriate measures to avoid misuse, loss, unauthorised access, accidental disclosure and unauthorised changes.
